Kaw Tha Blay Learning Centre was found in 2008. It is available for students who are high school graduates from Karen State, under Karen Education Department Education system, Refugee Camps cross border in Thailand, Migrate High School, Thai School and Burma Education System High School. It also involves high school graduates from other ethnic areas and Burma, who want to study for two years, after completing grade ten.
The four main classes at Kaw Tha Blay are Community Health, Computers, Thai, and English. In addition, students learn basic leadership skills, gender equality, community project management, basic economics, environmental studies, human right activism, traditional Karen dance, and a strong agricultural program. Currently, our school approximately has fifty students, who live on campus, in dormitories separated by gender. Classes are from 8:00am-3:00pm. Furthermore, students study for one hour each morning and two hours each night in study hall. Also, students complete rotating chore duties, play sports, and work together on farming and building around the school.
